What should I expect in attending the Partner’s Intensive?

The experience of a partner impacted by sexual compulsion within an intimate relationship can be minimized and misunderstood. The primary goal of this intensive is to provide a structured and safe experience to heal from the effects of betrayal trauma. This intensive will provide multiple opportunities for participants to connect with and expand their felt sense of personal empowerment, authenticity and strength in a safe and caring setting utilizing education, Experiential and Somatic therapeutic modalities.

The framework of experiential therapy is to bring unconscious emotional and mental impact of one’s experiences into one's consciousness by using an action-oriented model of therapy that goes beyond what many "talk" therapies access. This group will allow an opportunity to delve deeply into ones-self to find the clarity and truth of your authentic self and continue to understand the impacts of betrayal trauma.

Psychoeducation and Somatic therapies will be utilized to explore the depth of betrayal trauma and rupture in attachment thus creating understanding and identification of trauma responses in the body helping Partners to connect to their authentic self. Additionally, education will be provided to explain the disease of addiction (including compartmentalization, depression and narcissism) and how it forms through an individual’s childhood and life experiences.

Betrayal trauma impacts us physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. This intensive will benefit Partner’s who want to better understand and regulate trauma by building internal and external resources. The facilitator is committed to creating a safe and caring setting so that the passageway towards healing supports the genuine truth and pain that betrayal creates.
